Rest in Yalta

Foros, Opolznevoye, Parkovoye, Beregovoye, Oliva, Sanatornoye (Mukhalatka, Mshatka)  - these resort villages are as if created by nature for solitary elite leisure. Inaccessible rocks, strict tones of ever-green parks almost hiding old palaces and ultra-modern dachas, unusually pure beaches...

Recreation and seasons

Modern press pays maximum attention to the Presidential residence in Mukhalatka which is the summer political capital in Ukraine. But elite rest in Yalta started its development here only last decade after Yalta-Sevastopol highway construction. From the start of the 19th century only rare dachas of big originals and creators, who were in need of solitude, started to appear.

Bikers have their own reasons to rest in Yalta. Russia bikers' team of high-way racing and mountain bike trains here. Traditional Moscow championships of rock-climbing are held in Foros. Usually such occasions take place in November-December when the sun is shining and temperature is ideal for sports and leisure in Yalta.

Points of interest

A part of Yakob Zhukovsky estate (he was a relative of Vrubel famous artist) remained in Parkovoye. He founded an unusual landscape park in 1905-1912. Many artists and sculptors who participated in 'Blu Rose' vanguard group, decorated it. Sculptor A.T.Matveyev ornamented it with romantic 'ruins', bridges, fountains and multiple sculptors of girls, boys and lards. There were about 40 statues and other interesting construction but no only about ten of them remained.

Ifigeniya rock is a result of ancient volcanism. But it evokes more emotions when we think about human sacrifices in the name of Virgin, the Goddess of Tavrs. Shaitan-Merdven (Devil's Stairs) Pass was used in all times in order to cross from the Southern Coast to foothills of Crimea and back. 40 steep turns are inclosed into a stone gorge during one kilometer.

Melas palace and a park were built during the first half of the 19th century by L.A.Perovski – a participant of the Patriotic War of 1812. In the middle of the last century Russian poet A.K.Tolstoy lived here. The source of mineral water (Essentuki # 20 type) is situated not far from the sea.

If we go from Foros to Yalta, a narrow rocky ridge Ai-Yuri (St. Georgiy) draws our attention. It resembles the dragon conquered by St.Georgiy. Two-hundred meter tunnol is made within its stone sides. Three sharp rocks of Mshatka-Kayasi rises sheear at the eastern exit from the ridge to the right from the road. They are well-known all over the world and quite popular amidst rock-climbers and those who like active rest in Yalta.

Mukhalatka village became known not so long ago. It was the favorite place of recreation for Alla Pugacheva and Filipp Kirkorov. Yulian Semenov had a dacha here as well.

The elegant Church of Christ Revival is seen on a lone steep rock and it is sean from everywhere- from the sea and from the mountain pastures.
